Baked Goods
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 cup rolled oats
3 tablespoons lard
Milk
Sift dry ingredients. Mix in rolled oats. Rub in lard. Add enough milk
(about 1/2 cup) to make a firm dough.
Knead on a floured board. Roll out thinly, prick with a fork and cut into rounds. (Dough may be a little firm and hard to roll at first.)
Bake on a greased cookie sheet in a 400°F oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 1 1/2 to 2 dozen cookies.
